City of Summit - Parking Permit System

To purchase a permit follow the instructions below for the permit type needed.

SUMMIT RESIDENTS - Permits Expire October 31st.

 *Please call our office if you need a temp permit to cover you from now until October 31, 2023. Permit renewals for the next permit period will start October 1,2023.

 For Parking & Transfer Station (Dump) Access

1.   Click here for step by step instructions to open in a separate web page.

2.   If you do not have an account, click here to set one up then follow the steps 4-8 below.

3.   If you already have an account,  click here. Enter your email address and password to log in.

4.   Click "Add Permit" on the right side.

a.   Select your vehicle from the “Permit Vehicle” drop-down list and continue steps below to buy the permit.

b.   If your vehicle is not listed then you must add it by clicking on “Add Vehicle” - enter all of your vehicle information into the system. Please repeat this step for each vehicle that is not listed in the drop down box.

5.   After you add your vehicles select your first vehicle license plate from the Permit Vehicle drop down box. Select either  #1-Resident Permit or #2 Resident Sr. Permit from the permit type drop down list.

6.  Upload the required documents for each vehicle:

a.   Upload a valid vehicle registration (showing your Summit address) next to the license plate. If you have temporary plates call our office 908-522-5100. Click Browse or choose file to select the picture or scan of the documents you saved.

b.   If your vehicle is leased, upload a valid Insurance Card as well as registration.

c.   If your registration does not reflect a Summit Address also upload a current phone, internet or cable bill showing your Summit address in the same name as on the registration card.

d.   Applying for a Senior Permit – upload a valid Driver’s License in same name as on registration - age 62 or older.

e.  Click “Add to Cart” once all required documents are uploaded for the vehicle you are buying a permit for. Each car must be done separately so repeat steps # 4-6 for each vehicle you want to register a permit for.

7.  Click on "credit card" to add your credit card or update the one on file and when finished hit "Continue”.

8. Click on "Accept Term" and then "Buy" and now your request is submitted.

Your permit request will be sent to Parking Services for review and approval. Please allow up to 10 business days for review and approval. Once your permit is approved, your credit card will be charged and you will receive a confirmation email.

 

Summit Residents who work Downtown - Permits expire November 30th

 

1.  If you are a new Downtown Employee who is a Summit Resident and already have an account follow Step 3 above. Each downtown employee must upload a signed downtown employee application each year.

2.  Follow Steps 4-5 above. For step 6 request either #3 Resident & Downtown Employee Permit or #4 Resident & Downtown Employee Senior Permit.

3.   Then follow steps 7-9 to finalize your purchase of a permit.

Your permit request will be sent to Parking Services for approval. Please allow up to 10 business days for review and approval. Once your permit is approved, your credit card will be charged and you will receive a confirmation email.

 

Downtown Employee Permits - Permits Expire November 30th

 

1.   If you are a new Downtown Employee and do not already have an account, follow Step 2 above. Each downtown employee must upload a signed downtown employee application each year.

2.   If you already have an account, please follow Steps 3-9 above. For step 5 request either #5 Downtown Employee Permit or #6 Downtown Employee Senior Permit

3.   Then follow steps 6-9 above to submit your permit request.

Your permit request will be sent to Parking Services for approval. Please allow up to 10 business days for review and approval. Once your permit is approved, your credit card will be charged and you will receive a confirmation email.

 

Overnight Parking ($100/Qtr. Seniors $75/Qtr.)

 

Available for those who live in the Summit downtown area and need overnight parking in certain lots between the hours of 3pm-8am:

1.   If you are a new a Summit Resident who lives downtown and needs overnight parking and does already have an account follow Step 2 above. Each overnight resident must upload a signed Overnight Application.

2.   If you already have an account, please follow Steps 3-5 above. For step 5 request #13 Overnight Parking Quarterly Permit or #14 Overnight Sr. Parking Quarterly Permit.

3.   Then follow steps 6-9 to finalize your purchase of a permit.

4.   When you are on the final purchase page, please ensure you click the box for recurring payments so your credit card will automatically bill you every quarter.

Your permit request will be sent to Parking Services for approval. Please allow up to 5-10 business days for review and approval. Once your permit is approved, your credit card will be charged and you will receive a confirmation email.

 

Prepayments for Parking

 

Prepayment requests are for those who choose to prepay for their parking instead of paying daily.

1.   Once you buy a permit. You can click on "Buy Permit" again and select one of the following prepayments:

#7 Resident Prepayment Monthly

#8 Resident Prepayment Quarterly - Calendar Quarter

#9 Resident Prepayment Annual - For the Calendar Year

#10 Downtown Parking Prepayment Monthly - if you are a Summit resident and work downtown select either #10, #11, or #12

#11 Downtown Parking Prepayment Quarterly - Calendar Quarterly

#12 Downtown Parking Prepayment Annual - For the Calendar Year

#13 Overnight - please see instructions above

#14 Overnight Sr. - please see instruction above

#15 Park & Ride Monthly - see below instructions

Residents who work in the downtown, please select “Downtown Employee Prepayments”. Prepayments are based on the calendar month, quarter, or year and are not prorated. All prepayments are recurring. You must email us prior to the 1st of the month if you wish to stop your prepayment charge.

 

Park & Ride Prepayments are for the Lakeland bus lot only

 

1.   If you do not have an account, please set up an account, click here and set up your account and then the follow instructions # 6 through #9 below.

2.   If you already have an account, copy the temporary password from the email sent to you and click here. Enter your email address and the temporary password.

3.   Click on "Menu" the go to "Account Settings" and click on "Change Password" and paste the temporary password.

4.   Enter a new password (for security purposes) and click on "Change Password".

5.   Click here for instructions and then click "Buy Permit" and then click on "Add Vehicle" and enter your vehicle information into the system. Please repeat this step for each vehicle to wish to purchase a permit for.

6.   Click "Buy Permit" - From the drop down list choose the License Plate of the vehicle and choose either which prepayment you wish either #15 Park & Ride Monthly, #16 Park & Ride Quarterly, or #17 Park & Ride Monthly.

7.    

a.   Upload a valid vehicle registration. If you have temporary plates call our office 908-522-5100.

b.   If your vehicle is leased, upload a valid Insurance Card as well as registration.

8.   Click on "credit card" to add your credit card and when finished hit "Continue"

9.   Click on "Accept Terms" and then "Buy" and click on Recurring Billing so your credit card will bill you automatically.
